Amber Valley Farm is the home of Grand Ridge Farmhouse Cheese where, from our small but growing herd of dairy sheep, goats and Dexter cows, we make a range of handcrafted artisan cheese.

After years of working and living in the city, we have embarked on a rural adventure, bringing a neglected hilly farm back up to scratch as we adopt an environmentally friendly and self sustaining lifestyle.
Nestled in the Strzelecki Ranges in Victoria, an hour and a half from Melbourne, we produce farm fresh produce - fresh seasonal vegetables, fruit, farmhouse cheese and dairy products and a range of handcrafted jams, preserves and bottled goods, available fresh from the farm, local markets and via the internet/mail order.

When you visit our farm, an easy and picturesque drive through rolling hills, you can purchase our produce, meet the dairy herd, learn about cheesemaking, visit our Wessex Saddle Back Pigs or just enjoy a slice of country life.

What do we produce?

Well that's the simple part. With a minor change to meal planning, eating seasonally available produce means that your food is fresher, tastier and has had less impact on the environment before it gets to your table. Combine this with preserving the annual glut, the eating season of many foods is extended And that's why we only sell what is available seasonally and this includes our cheese.

Why cheese? Because before we can make cheese, we have to be able to milk our ewes, goats and cows. Our ewes only produce milk for a limited time after lambing each season with the goats and cows making up the shortfall. So simply, when there's milk, there's cheese!
